Angel's Herald: Nicasio's Asshole, Overloaded

Nicasio's Asshole, Overloaded

This press release was issued almost a month ago, but I wasn't able to blog about it so here. Petron stand by there first statement: There was no overload. As far as the Guimaras Oil Spill is concered, such incident could not have happened without the sole faults of Petron. Dude, the carrier was like as old as Titanic.

Petron Corporation yesterday reiterated its position that there was no overloading that occurred in Solar 1 as reported by the Board of Marine Inquiry.

“As far as we are concerned, there was no overloading since the bunker fuel we loaded was within the ship’s capacity in terms of volume and weight,” Public Affairs Manager Virginia A. Ruivivar said.

The company’s records show that the loaded volume was 2.19 million liters against the ships capacity of 2.24 million liters. This is equivalent to only 98%. The weight of the cargo, meanwhile, was only 2,064 metric tons or 97% of the vessel’s deadweight tonnage of 2,128 metric tons. Petron added that its custody flow meters which measure outgoing products at its Bataan Refinery is state-of-the-art and is accurate to 0.15%. The meters are “probed” regularly in accordance with the requirement of Industrial Technology and Development Institute which is under the DOST.

I don't think they were able to 100% clear the dirt they did to the environment, as they pledged to do 45 days or so ago. With this damage, if I'm the freaking president, I will suspend Petron's operation for at least a year, and will order the company to still issue salary as if they're not closed to their lower staffs. CEos, Consultants and same level positions excluded, they should also be imprisoned for at least 3 months on a Muntinlupa setting without the special treatments. As for Nicasio, Death Sentence would do. That's my dream.
