Stand Up Against Poverty!
...And Stand Up for the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Far opposite than how you may have guessed what I am like, think twice, I have a heart and I'm on the Human Development field. For the past year or two, my life was spent by volunteering for causes and advocating for the MDGs. In fact, I have an award-winning project called YOUNG MDG. It has saved me from salvation, kidding. I'm not like those "feel-good" peeps who feels like they are saints when they at just one point helped build a freakin house or hand-over some old unusable clothes.
This is a rough draft of the website I am currently developing. It's the Philippine Website of "STAND UP," an event, via a concert, expected to attract 1 Million audience in The Philippines to Stand Up Against Poverty and Stand Up for The MDGs. Philippines is one of the many countries involved in this endeavor, along with other countries inside a 12-hour period, we will stand simultaneously and speak our pledge. Trying to achieve a Guinness World Record. So far, The Philippines' 1 Million Stand Up pledge to the UN Millennium Campaign (UN's committee in charged of MDG Campaigns worldwide and initiator of this event), is the highest in the world.
I'm doing this as a part of the UN Information and Advocacy Working Group. Working in such committees has been very helpful for me in gaining unimaginable amount of knowledge. Really.
